This is the documentation for Cloudera Enterprise 5.8.x. Documentation for other versions is available at Cloudera Documentation.

Managing Clusters

Cloudera Manager can manage multiple clusters, however each cluster can only be associated with a single Cloudera Manager Server or Cloudera Manager HA pair. Once you have successfully installed your first cluster, you can add additional clusters, running the same or a different version of CDH. You can then manage each cluster and its services independently.

On the Home > Status tab you can access many cluster-wide actions by selecting to the right of the cluster name: add a service, start, stop, restart, deploy client configurations, enable Kerberos, and perform cluster refresh, rename, upgrade, and maintenance mode actions.

  Note:

Cloudera Manager configuration screens offer two layout options: classic and new. The new layout is the default; however, on each configuration page you can easily switch between layouts using the Switch to XXX layout link at the top right of the page. For more information, see Configuration Overview.
